A LadyFest új különkiadással jelentkezik a MusicaFeminával és az Átlátszó Zenei Hang Fesztivállal való együttműködésben!

A Rosa Vertov egy négytagú női együttes Varsóból. Eredetileg középiskolai bandaként kezdték, majd 2014-ben a Crunchy Human Children Records kiadásában megjelent az első EP-jük. A dark shoegaze/dream pop jegyeivel erősen átitatott első nagylemezük who would have thought? címmel látott napvilágot 2017-ben. Hangzásuk egyre érettebbé vált az évek folyamán; az apró varsói klubok után felléptek Lengyelország legnagyobb zenei fesztiválján, valamint Ukrajnában, Németországban és Dél-Koreában is.
Emellett a Don’t Panic! We’re from Poland Showcase nevű, lengyelországi zenei exportot támogató szervezet tagjai.

Andreya Casablanca (Gurr) szólóprojektje gitárra és laptopra. Miután Doris-t az érzelmi kitörések közvetlen platformjaként használja (legyen szó szorongásról, szerelemről, vagy önterápiáról), némely dal sosem fejlődött tovább az Iphone-nal felvett demo állapotából, míg mások a popslágerek nyálas szövegeit, a balladák drámaiságát idézik. Ahogy egyik nap sírunk, majd a másik nap nevetünk, itt sem lesz semmi kiszámítható.

Musica Moralia (Meggyesházi Éda) zenéje különleges hangulattal bír – a kísérleti, poszt-folk szféra teremtménye. Saját szavaival élve néma zajt játszik hol cimbalmon, hol zongorán. Kezdetben kéthúros gitáron és zongorán komponált, majd később áttért a csellóra, mindeközben pedig megmagyarázhatatlan vonzalmat érez a 80-as évek analóg szintetizátorai iránt. Több mint tíz éve van a zenei pályán; Magyarországon, Németországban és Hollandiában is élt és dolgozott. A Normafa Records 2016-ban adta ki első LP-jét hell is coming home címmel. A rendkívül intim és személyes hangvételű album cimbalomra, zongorára és elektromos orgonára írt dalokat tartalmaz.

A Ladyfest Budapest azzal a céllal jött létre, hogy felhívja a figyelmet azokra az egyenlőtlenségekre és igazságtalanságokra, amelyekkel a művészeti vagy zenei iparban dolgozó nők szinte nap mint nap szembesülnek. 2016 óta a Ladyfest Budapest évente hátteret biztosít egy showcase-fesztiválnak, amely az underground női előadóművészek láthatóságát hivatott elősegíteni. A zenekarok és művészek bemutatása mellett fő céljaink a párbeszéd elősegítése, illetve a nők közötti szolidaritás tereinek létrehozása.

Rosa Vertov is a four-member all-female band from Warsaw, Poland. Originally starting as a high-school band, they released their debut EP in 2014 on Crunchy Human Children Records. Their first album came out in 2017, the dark shoegaze/dream-pop heavy who would have thought?, and their sound matured as they played numerous shows at tiny clubs in Warsaw, Poland’s biggest music festivals, as well as touring Ukraine, Germany and South Korea.
They are also part of the Polish music export organization Don’t Panic! We’re from Poland Showcase.

Doris is the solo project of Andreya Casablanca (Gurr), her guitar and her laptop. Using it as a direct outlet of emotional outbursts (about anxiety, boyfriends, self-therapy), some songs have never left the state of its demo iphone-recording, while others have dipped into the realms of cheesy pop lines and dramatic breaks. Just as one day you cry, one day you laugh, there will be nothing solid about this.

Musica Moralia’s (Eda Meggyeshazi) music bears a distinct atmosphere; a creation in the experimental, post-folk sphere. In her own words, she plays silent noise, sometimes on the dulcimer, sometimes on the piano. She started composing on a two-stringed guitar and on the piano, then later on she moved on to the cello. In the meantime she feels inexplicably drawn towards 80’s analogue synths. She has been in the music scene for more than ten years in Hungary, often in Germany and the Netherlands. In 2016 Normafa Records launched her debut LP with the title hell is coming home, which is an intimate and highly personal album consisting of songs written and performed on the dulcimer, piano, and electric-organ.

Ladyfest Budapest came into existence to raise awareness of the inequalities and injustices women have to face, almost on a daily basis, when pursuing a career in the arts or in the music industry. Since 2016, Ladyfest Budapest has been providing a platform in the frames of an annual showcase festival, to help increase the visibility of underground female performers. Besides the introduction of bands and artists, our goal is to catalyze the discourse and build spaces of female solidarity.
